Any idea how to track the 73NG and 767 fleet on flightaware? Tail numbers? Callsigns?

Yes, download Flightradar24 and you can filter by airline, aircraft type, etc.

Yup. We're all mushrooms. Hopefully Apollo wasn't relying on any Silicon Valley Bank loans to complete the purchase (for their sake anyway, it's "meet the new boss, same as the old boss" from my seat).

I was just thinking the same thing.

For the lurkers and previous commenters: Company just announced regulatory approval for going private.

Still not a done deal. Definitely closer, though I don’t think that was surprising given the lack of an airline merger and the (relatively out of the way - from a regulators perspective - nature of the) space we work in.

Apollo is over 2 times larger than all of SVB combined. Big fish usually don't swim with small fish, and Apollo is a big fish.

Good to know

How many bad decisions does it require for a big fish?

The best way to figure how Apollo will affect Atlas is to look at their other airline purchases. The airlines may be cargo or passenger, but the purchasing company's philosophy is the same. When Icahn bought TWA we all new what was to come, same with Eastern. Hopefully for my Polaroid friends things will turn out better

Luckily they haven't gutted previous airlines. That said having successive bank failures occurring combined with dropping freight rates right as Apollo buys us is a little unsettling. Credit Suisse and a basket of other American banks are creaking under strain tonight. A lot depends on how Apollo's other investments look.
