All

I hope everyone is well over on the Atlas property. I would like to ask a question in regards to a timeline if possible. I did recently submit my resume and application in this open window.

Currently, I work overseas on a contract that requires a three month (90 day) notice to break. Therefore, it is a breakable contract with both monetary and non-monetary ramifications. Most importantly, a three month notice is considered to be a "proper professional" notice such as a two week notice here in the United States. I have never burned any bridges in this business and that practice has served me well.

With that being said...

If I were offered an interview opportunity with Atlas and asked when I could start, would telling them three months be considered too long or considered acceptable because of my contract.

Also, is it better to obtain letters of recommendation now or wait for the process to start with the phone interview? I'm hearing more and more that it is better once the process has started.

Any guidance is very much appreciated.

All the best and good luck!

There is no way HR can say if there is going to be a class in 3 months. They can speculate but it just isn't planned that far out. I know that they have made offers, then held them for miltary not at their DOS yet. At some point, you're going to have to make the big decision and may well end up unemployed for a short time. As we approach the holidays, the training schedule gets ruffed up as well.

If you're getting letters from current Atlas employees, it doesn't matter, the letters will remain in the system.

The Grill

Sorry guys, but I need to stray a little from the hiring stuff. I just showed up in Miami for PC and 747-8F Diff training and when I went to the grill it was covered and cold! Not a soul around and the crickets were chirping! What's up with that on a Friday night at the Atlas Marriott Campus???

PM me if you are here. I am here for 8 days.

We were all at Champions drinking and eating half price nachos....plus it was raining out. I didn't want to get my loafers wet.

Gotta be a 747 class. No one on the Light Twin wears loafers!

7.50 beers at Champions? Ouch! I'd rather drink in the rain!

I'm more "Buffet" style with flip flops, shorts, base ball cap, and shirt untucked. I will be at the grill this afternoon around 5pm with a steak. (Second year pay just kicked in!) Hope to see yall there!!
