Stay positive; things are starting to move. Thanks to all 428 pages of good guys trying to help each other out. I do like to grill and enjoy cold beverages while studying.

How was the test? Good prep on this forum?

No, just the U.S. This is the wording in our contract:

A Crewmember who is based at a location within the United
States but whose residence is outside the United States will not
be eligible for Gateway Travel until he arrives in the United
States at a Gateway Travel Airport of the Crewmember’s
choosing.

All gateways are domestic airports (no Hawaii). No international.

HNL and KOA are in the list if you need Hawaii

Some guys that live overseas have been able to do some deals where they "gateway" from point A to point B that aren't in the US....but there is nothing in the contract that says the company has to do that for them.... Then again there is nothing prohibiting it either ;0)

KME...where did you fly Freddy at?

visceral 09-07-2012 06:00 PM

Thanks for the replies guys. That is very useful information. Hawaii or Anchorage would be a nice gateway to allow easier access to Asia.

Have a buddy whose Gateway is HNL, problem is that sometimes it takes an extra day to get home.

Just as an indication that we aren't blowing smoke when we say your schedule WILL change...daily, I am on my first day of this month's pairing. After a short flight from JFK to ORD (this is the first time this year that I have actually done anything directly out of my base) I am now on change #5 to my original schedule. I do enjoy the adventure of this very much but please be certain you are ready for a schedule written with moveable ink before diving in. It is what it is and this flexibility is why our customers like us and keep coming back.
