Gentlemen, let's keep in contact (pvt email or otherwise) regarding our outcomes. I have been told they are a little behind in the vetting process. As you know, we each gave them a great deal of information to verify.

I guess that means we in the Sep interviews will be sitting on pins & needles a bit longer than expected, too!!!

Patience people. In the past it was not uncommon to wait 4-8 mod before getting the call for a class date. Also, no news has always been good news in the past......

Other thing to remember is that everything you have done so far (phone call, tech eval/test, and interview in MIA) is subject to the points systems they have in place to rate the candidates...

So, your interview buddies from the Aug 28-29 sessions may have gotten class dates based on their higher overall scores, recommendations, etc...

The Atlas selection process is based on points...waiting is hard on you, but don't fight things that you can't control. You've done your part...that is all you can do.

Good luck.

FYI - if you do get a letter, read it carefully. Mine initially sounded a lot like a "thanks, but no thanks" but it was really the pool letter. The magic phrase is: "Your name has been added to our preferential hiring list." They make it clear you're not hired until you get into class.

Thanks for all the info and encouraging words

Ah...the waiting game. It is difficult, and somewhat frustrating at times. But overall, this is where we want to me, thus waiting now is worth the time working there. I know the call will come, its just a matter of time, and until then, I study and read, and believe that the call will come.

Thanks for everyone's contribution to this thread, it gets better each and every page it goes. Keep the info coming, its very relieving and sustaining.

Good luck to everyone waiting.

According to that press release, two 747-800 will replace two 747-400s. Is there no new flying for those 400s?

With all the international flying and deadheading, do your passports get filled up in a year or less at Atlas?

Are in-flight meals on cargo flights decent? PBJs and water, or something else?

Most places don't stamp your passport if you're operating crew. The Germans will give you an "inserted page" with room for 40 stamps. You'll still end up getting extra pages in your passport after a few years.

Contract says it has to be a hot meal over 4 hours and 2 hot meals over 8. Some stations it's pretty good, some so so. We've got a program that lets you pick your meal going through Anchorage.

You must be familiar with the term "Freshman 15" referring to the 15 pounds every newbie at college gains during the first year...well, that term is alive and well at Atlas Air due to the catering that is available on most freighter flights.

We lovingly call it "Body by Atlas"...and every FNG feels the pressure to uphold that tradition!!

Yes, the catering is usually very good...but also mostly that there is little to do on long haul flights but solve the world's problems, complain about Atlas, complain about Atlas management (!!), and eat, eat, and eat some more...

Good luck.
