Crucified,

Gringo has more relevant posts in this thread than you have posts in two years of APC.
Airlines aren't ex-girlfriends. They are our employers. Gringo's experiences at Southern are only a year removed. In other words still largely relevant. His perspective in cautioning people about what they will be getting themselves into by coming here is still a useful data point.
More information is usually better than less. Who are you that you want people with critical views of the company to be silenced?

His analogy was off to begin with. Southern Air was family. Still is, actually.

And while I'm now happily divorced, I still have visitation rights.

ie Battered Woman Syndrome.
He ought to fit right in at Southern.
Robthree - your ridiculous comparison ("challenged" working conditions vs. domestic violence) insults every victim of this terrible crime. How DARE you even make such an insensitive and ignorant remark?

I heard sandrich likes to put his NutZ on everything during training. Just FYI don't invite him for some rounds of moonshine in the hotel. Keep it real Sandrich congrats don't think it will ever be as great as the first ground school.

Sorry if this was answered earlier but there's been a bunch of ranting and raving for the last few pages.

Pay on the 737 is about 50,000 to start with quick upgrades? Captain rate after one year would land you where?

Do they buy you a ticket home (like the 777/747) for your days off, or it's up to you to get there? Commute on days on or off?

Thanks.

Rough math came out to be around $43,000. But your first few months (4) on training pay is around $1700/month after benefits/taxes. Upgrade is going junior. Capt would yield you around a rough average of $75,000. It's a 60 hour guarantee with blended reserve in the lines. Lines are only worth 30-40 hours on the 737. 4 legs of flying per day(errr....night), short flights other than YYC, long duty days, long sits at sort waiting to be loaded/offloaded, rest is during the day.

Get only 12 days off on the 737. CVG based unlike the 777. So no airline tickets or hotel provided in CVG. Commute is on your days off. Limited JS agreements. No Delta agreement. Reserve call-out is 1 hour so you better like Florence/Erlanger.

So that'll be a definite pass on the interview.
