How many black marks do they have on their record?

The white elephant in the room is our contract negotiations... Seems like we can barely keep our head above water, and we are on a bankruptcy contract as it is... And the negotiations haven't even begun yet.

It's not really the same argument as asking a guy at Atlas why He's not leaving for Fed Ex, Delta ect.. there's allot of us that are trying that route and it's still pretty difficult to get an interview there.. This is a different argument because, right now, Atlas is hiring anyone who meets their requirements and has a pulse.

The guys at the schoolhouse are saying they were told they want 2000 pilots by next year.
Several Southern guys have walked across the street to Atlas. I was just waiting for IOE to be done before submitting my app. But United called, and that was that. As a six year SOO 777FO/737CA the take home pay as a first year Atlas 747FO would have been about the same, and after the first year it just gets better and better.

I would certainly encourage anyone considering Southern to try Atlas first. And if hired at Southern send regular updates to Atlas. It will always be an improvement.

THAT. Same goes for other ACMIs including Southern guys trying to apply with Atlas, and that's for guys/gals with no dings on their record what so ever.

Did you have to attend any job fairs or have any connections, or did they just call based on experience/resume?

Thanks!

Scare tactics. Southern is the lowest paid group out of all the 1224 pilot's. If they can't make money it's because of the training cost and attrition.

My app had been in for 3+ years, 21 LORs, former Cal employee, 6900TT. I dunno how my name bubbled up to the top, just glad it did.

All the guys I know getting on at Atlas have had their resumes forwarded to the hiring authority by a current Atlas pilot. Certainly seems to have been effective for them.

I don’t know about the situation at Southern. I can say that Atlas has told us they will be hiring aggressively with no end in sight. I personally would love to fly with guys that have experience on this side of the business model. If the rumor has any validity, I don’t think Atlas is too bad of place to stop for a bit.
