Sorry, you can't be considered without a DUI. How else can SAI keep you unless you're unemployable elsewhere?

What happened when Polar was bought by Atlas? What happened to those pilots? Merged seniority lists? Furloughs? etc.

How many years did that take??

I worked with a few of "furloughed" guys from Polar during their so-called furloughed. IIRC, they got a chunk of back pay from that little maneuver.

It took many years because of personality clashes between the two ALPA MECs that dragged out negotiations. The seniority integration required arbitration.

All of this transpired before my arrival. I can say that once we were merged the transition went smoothly. I never witnessed any conflict in the cockpit. I'm sure it happened.

The situation is now entirely different. Both Southern and Atlas are in the same union, and one that has a clear seniority list merger policy.

Most importantly, The IBT is very willing to file a single carrier petition, which ALPA is not.

Purchase completed in May (+/-). If necessary, the IBT files single carrier. In any case, the IBT presents the merged list to management. 9 months of negotiations, then to the arbitrator. Merged contract 3 months later.

The time line is pretty firm. Thank God that we are not ALPA.

I agree with most of this, but I want to caution people not to jump to the conclusion this next CBA will be arbitrated. We need to stick together and keep the company's feet to the fire. ALL IN.
