Or so that we can sign a 777 contract with SonAir; they've been rumored to want 777s for a long time.
There are three ways to do that: 1. Add passenger operations, management, and administration to Southern's OpSpecs. 2. Add the 777 operation, training program, and management to Atlas OpSpecs (redundant to Southern's operation). 3. Merge Southern into the Atlas certificate. My money (and hope) is on option 3. Merging certificates is a big task, but then you can start a passenger operation the next day, and realize several other benefits of a merged operation. |

Are three of these 777's the planes that TNT operates? Wonder if that lease automatically defaults to FedEx in the buyout and FedEx assumes those leases.
OO-TSA OO-TSB OO-TSC (Atlas also owns 2 AeroLogic 777's and one Emirates 777) I would hope that Atlas brings the TNT planes back stateside for us to fly... 8 |

DUI? nope.
No accidents, incidents or violations. 4 year degree, etc, etc, etc |
Sorry, you can't be considered without a DUI. How else can SAI keep you unless you're unemployable elsewhere?
|
What happened when Polar was bought by Atlas? What happened to those pilots? Merged seniority lists? Furloughs? etc.

Maybe I can "pencil whip" a DUI

Merged list.
I worked with a few of "furloughed" guys from Polar during their so-called furloughed. IIRC, they got a chunk of back pay from that little maneuver. |

How many years did that take??
I worked with a few of "furloughed" guys from Polar during their so-called furloughed. IIRC, they got a chunk of back pay from that little maneuver. It took many years because of personality clashes between the two ALPA MECs that dragged out negotiations. The seniority integration required arbitration. All of this transpired before my arrival. I can say that once we were merged the transition went smoothly. I never witnessed any conflict in the cockpit. I'm sure it happened. |

Most importantly, The IBT is very willing to file a single carrier petition, which ALPA is not. Purchase completed in May (+/-). If necessary, the IBT files single carrier. In any case, the IBT presents the merged list to management. 9 months of negotiations, then to the arbitrator. Merged contract 3 months later. The time line is pretty firm. Thank God that we are not ALPA. |

The situation is now entirely different. Both Southern and Atlas are in the same union, and one that has a clear seniority list merger policy.

A checkride bust is acceptable in lieu of a DUI. ;) |

Very different situation this time. Thanks, though, for guessing. You were close. BTW, How's the SLI game going over at your airline? 8 |

My back is killing me, my @ss hurts from the crappy seat and I've got the runs from whatever it was they fed me on that God-awful flight." "Ok, thanks!" And that was the end of that. |
