Default Atlas

To all pilots considering Atlas,, stay away !! Stay FAR away !!

In my 16 years here I have never seen morale this low. Even the maintenance of the aircraft is starting to slip and get shoddy.

Our Exco is exceptionally weak. They dont know what to with these guys(management). To believe that the company is going to "negotiate in good faith" is evidence of their naivety. All we hear from them is how bad Atlas management is to us(boo hoo hoo) and nothing of our plans on how to counter them. My 11 yr. old can do what these guys are doing.

Scheduling has turned into a disaster. You dont do anything you bid for.

To summarize,, Stay away !!

I agree/disagree with you.

- Yes, better to stay away. Don't say we didn't warn you.
- Maintenance starting to slip? Fine. Take more time on your preflight, write up everything, even - gasp! - before departure and take the safest choice of action if something breaks en route. Sounds like a problem for their on-time percentage.
- The ExCo is exceptionally weak? Either you have an axe to grind or you're misinformed, IMO. Have you talked to an ExCo lately? Or a Negotiating Committee member? You think it's good strategy to lay all of our cards on the table? That's where we disagree. The ExCo is only as strong as we are. What leverage are you giving them? Time to pull together, not break apart.
- Scheduling has gotten worse, sure, but when did we ever fly what we bid for?

Internet bravado. What if you are in BFE? You know good and well that you really won't ground a jet for something trivial just to try and stick it to the company if you are on a trip in BFE and potentially get stuck there.

Barring an unsafe security situation on the ground, when the plane is down, the plane is down. It's not the crews responsibility to fly a down aircraft for a companies convenience.

Sorry, not flying with an open write-up, period. If it can be deferred, as anything trivial can be, I'll fly it once it's legal. We've had many jets break in not-so-nice places over the years. Part of the gig.
