I'm a U.S. permanent resident (Non citizen) willing to pursue a SIC Type in a aircraft over 12.500 Lbs MTOW.
The aircraft is operated part 91 and the Second in Command training will be provided in the aircraft by the captain. I won't attend a flight school/sim.
Do I need a TSA Clearance category 1? (I don't have any other type) If yes, how it works since the captain isn't a CFI and able to clear me through the system?
What if I only fly domestically and never get the SIC Type?
I e-mail TSA and obviously they had no clue and were no help

Not sure how you contacted the TSA.
This would be the appropriate avenue.
