Why is it everyone is sorry AFTER they get in trouble? Nobody ever says...I cant believe I made the mistake of my life...I actually THOUGHT about drinking and driving, but then I didnt because I realized that could be hazardous for those around me and my future. The great thing about being a pilot is that usually morons that get DUIs, do drugs, or other stupid stuff actually get what they deserve EVEN if they are 16 with a 3rd class medical. As far as pilots go, the FAA/Law doesnt care how old you are, there is no under 18 record that "goes away." I know it is unfair because it is a scientific fact that people under the age of 18 are physically unable to think. (The next stimulus bill will have a section to eliminate DUIs and drug convictions...since people cant get good jobs with DUIs and drug convictions). Darwinism says you do not deserve the responsibility of having peoples' lives in your hands. But since nobody takes responsibility and the violation of responsibility seriously anymore, I am sure you will be flying a CRJ/ERJ as soon as the economy picks up.

Hate to tell you Dan, he ruined his own career with the DUI. He's just lucky he didn't kill himself or anyone else. At that point he would've kissed his freedom goodbye for good. Anyone who gets a DUI should be thanking the cop for saving them from themselves.
Although I don't agree with it, I'm sure hiring boards will look beyond the DUI if his nose is clean from now on.
