Default Address Change

This is a weird one... I use my parents house as my mailing address for the FAA because I have roommates where I currently live and things tend to get lost.
So my parents moved in the middle of March and had their mail forwarded to the new address. The first week of April or so I sent the change of address form to the FAA. About 3 weeks later I get the change of address form sent back to me almost destroyed (must have been damaged in the mail). I then went online to register and change my address this way, when I went online to change it I see that it had already been changed?????

How is that possible? Did the FAA just change it because of the forwarded mail? I know the letter did not make it to the FAA as it was ripped and torn, but un-opened. This has been on my mind for about 2 weeks now as I fly for a living and I dont want the FAA to think I just didnt bother to change the address.

I am very confused as to how they got the new address.

I have often wondered about this. I keep my permanent address as my parents house as I know that this job will keep me moving a LOT. But I still get mail from them at my currnt mailing address, even though I never sent a change of address for a house I know I wont be in more than a few years.
