I look at logbooks the same way I look at flight paperwork. Clean means fraud. If there's an error, fix it. I heard something years ago called log book progression. They expect that your logs will be messy in your early years and becomes neater and more professional looking as you progress through your ratings. If it didn't look that way, then they looked closer for fraud.

I have a friend that put his stuff on an electronic logbook. He brought it that and his normal logbook for sign offs and things like that. He said they never even looked at his paper logbook, this was for regionals. However, I had an interview the other day and they only wanted to see my paper logbook and didn't even look at my electronic one that I printed out. It was for a small operation. I guess it all depends.

I use a special pen. It is my magic pen. Actually it is a Pilot brand pen and the package says friXion piont erasable gel on it. I get them at Office max. It is a real pen, not like the cheesy old erasable ones back in the day..It writes nice and uses real ink. It has a special tip on it though that allows you to erase the ink. It is not an eraser though. I'm not sure what it is, heck it could be filled with fairy dust for all I know. What I do know is that the ink is pemanent unless you hit it with the special tip on the pen then it comes right off with no mess. You would need to try it to believe me. Most of my pilot buddies now have a few of them in their log books as well.

Wish I would have been a little more neat, but some errors were done and now look sloppy in my books. Hopefully not a big deal in an interview
