Default SECAF rides in AI Controlled F-16

https://apnews.com/article/artificia...ternoon%20Wire

The Secretary of the Air Force rode in the front seat of an AI controlled F-16. This AI is learning fast, and has beaten some human F-16 pilots in simulated air to air combat.

Glad it's us making these strides, but yep, Skynet boys, it's here.

I’m joined today by my spouse, Beth Halpern and my niece, Sophie Kendall. I want to specifically thank
Beth for her love and support. When I returned to government in 2010, Beth and I had been married for
six years and she had no idea what she was getting into. This time is different, and I am especially
grateful for her support in what we both know will be a challenging role should I be confirmed. I’d also
like to acknowledge my six-year-old son James, who is quite excited about his Dad potentially having
something to do with the Space Force. James is a big Star Wars fan, and his reaction when being told
about his Dad’s possible new job was “There’s really a Space Force?” There certainly is a Space Force,
and it is a critical contributor to our national security. If confirmed, I’ll be honored to have a role in
making it a success. I’d also like to acknowledge my grown up sons Scott and Eric, who have supported
me throughout my career. I’m very proud of them and of their wives Amy and Jennifer and of my five
grandchildren; in alphabetical order - Caroline, Mackenzie, Madison, Holden, and Jackson.

I'm starting to wonder if this military research is going to speed up single pilot ops. They're confident enough in it to put a high ranking offical solo in a F-16. And there's been a Caravan that's done a test flight with no pilot, just someone on the ground remote controling it.

She may have to return from the future to be born, then. These things happen.

An ejection seat is always a nice feature in any autonomous vehicle.

That's what I thought. But the article clearly said he was in front. And the photos clearly showed him in front. In fact, the inflight video showed him in front also. I suspect a test pilot was in the trunk, but still surprised to see an unqualified person up front...
