Default Pt 135 BE9L Check Airman/C750 FO or Regional?

Hi All,

Am in my early 20's flying Part 135 as lead captain on a King Air. At a career crossroads between sticking with my current company or transitioning to a 121 Regional. End goal is working for a mainline.

Company has offered a PIC type in our Citation X as an FO, along with Check Airman in the King Air. Curious what the thoughts are on whether doing this for year, then moving to 121 regional/ACMI, would look better than just going straight to a regional? At that point will have over 1000 TPIC, and I do know Airline Apps does ask for DO/CP/Check Airman experience.

Thanks!

If it gets another boxed checked on the resume it couldn't hurt, but then again seniority is everything.

If your end goal is working for mainline then your "safest" bet is going to be going to an American Airlines Wholly Owned subsidiary (Piedmont, Envoy and PSA- listed by quckest flow for new hires) and continuing to apply to all the legacies (including AA) and cargo outfits while you're there until you get hired off the street or flow.
