Default Wondering what it takes to find a flying job?

I had/have 1800 TT 650 Multi 250 X-Country 80 night 70 simulated instrument. So here is the problem I left flying for twenty years and I am now 58. Here is what I have done in the past five months
I got my:
First Class Physical
Current FR
Single engine IPC
Currently working on my Multi IPC
Attended a weekend Instrument refresher class 2 days.

I have sent out several applications:
Gamma Aviation
Boutique Air
Trans States Airlines
Ravn Air
several other similar places and I have not gotten a response form any of the above, this is all in about four months.

The other concern I have is about my X_C time is not fifty miles apart from departure airport which it is my understanding that for the X-C time to count toward the ATP it has to be fifty miles apart but not so for the X-C for part 135?
My question is what is wrong with this picture, is it is because of been out of flying for a long time. Any thoughts anybody?

Default Not enough recency

You just need to build some recent experience and finish up your times. There’s a regional woman new hire in my ATP/CTP class who hasn’t flown much since logging several hundred hours 121 time fourteen years ago.
Go rent a Piston single, get your 100 hours night time and the other times you lack. Fly with a safety pilot or an instructor and log sim inst time and approaches. Only count 50 miles+ with landings at each end as XC time.
You’ll get a job at most any regional. But, in the meantime, if you are not gainfully employed in aviation building your time, they won’t call you back until you are at or close to ATP mins.
PM me if you want help/suggestions.

Single engine IPC

Unless you're doing it for proficiency reasons, legally speaking you don't require an IPC in both single and multi engine aircraft. Instrument Proficiency Check must be completed in the appropriate category of aircraft (not class), Far 61.57(D)(1)(i). So if you're instrument current, you may act as PIC in multi engine aircraft, if carrying passengers, then the Class currency also applies. Of course, currency is just a bare minimum and is not to be confused with proficiency.

Like Pokeysrider said, if you bring up your times close to the hiring minimums, you should have no problem getting hired in the current environment even though you've been out of flying for a while. You can fly commercially for the next 10-20 years if you choose to stay in it for that long.
