Default PRIA for non-pilot job?

Hello. Looking for some advice regarding PRIA requirements. I am currently employed in a non-aviation industry, not as a pilot. I am going to be flying some 135 part time on the side of my full time non-aviation/non-pilot job. Is my new part 135 employer required to send the PRIA request to my current non-aviation employer where I do not work as a pilot?

Depends on the employer. There are companies who will, mainly because they've been burned before. There was a case when FAA fined a 135 operator because they didn't do a DOT check for a guy who worked at McDonalds. Thing is - he worked as a driver and was subject to DOT drug/alcohol screening so they were required to request the records from them.

Is it a security sensitive job? Drug and alcohol testing?

Otherwise no. And probably not anyway. Ask your flying job chief pilot.

Not PRIA, but subject to DOT request.

So DOT drug testing=yes, but PRIA=no. Makes sense. Thanks.

Thanks for all the answers guys. Sounds like yes on the DOT drug testing but no on the PRIA form.
