Hi,
My name is Muhammad Arshad and I recently moved to Detroit, Michigan (USA) two months ago as a legal permanent resident (Green Card Holder). I did my bachelors of science in Aerospace Engineering from Pakistan in 2015.
I came to USA on spouse visa and currently I am living with my in-laws. I really want to become an airline commercial pilot but I don't have much information about flight training and flight schools here. I also even don't have any idea that how things work in USA especially in "Airline Pilot Career".
I have lot of questions about choosing the aviation as an airline pilot. I also want to buy my own house after two to three years or any apartment to live separate from my in-laws. I want to ask that if I choose this career, how long it will take time to work for an airline and how much I can earn? Can I earn as much so that I can afford the expenses of my house rent, utility bills, health insurance, auto insurance, loan pay back and other miscellaneous expenses? To what extent, choosing this career will be beneficial for me?
Any deep insight in this regard will be highly appreciated.
Thank you so much,
Muhammad

The first place to start would be to meet with a CFI at any flight school in your area. With your degree you might be better off getting a job in the aviation industry and using that to fund your initial training (rather than taking out loans). Engineer will pay more than pilot until you make it to the jet level (regional, major, corporate, etc).

Look at a smaller airport near you that has a flight school of some type. Check their website then go in for a visit and talk. You need to put in the effort to make things happen. One needs to think about costs and financial resources too.
