Default Mil Comp CFI

Retiring mil transitioning to airlines. Looking to boost my resume/app. Is there real value in doing the Mil Comp CFI test to check the CFI box? I have military IP and EP all over my app and was wondering if having the CFI in addition will really help. Thanks.

I'm about to do the same and was wondering the same. My buds at all the majors said do it, box checked is better than a box left empty. Good luck!

It will cause your app to get scored slightly higher, so you might get called sooner.

It certainly won’t hurt and it’s not that big a deal.

Get the study guide from shepherdair, study a couple days, take the test, then make an appointment at your nearest FSDO. Bring your FEF and flight records showing IP check rides and IP time. No sweat.

Total outlay is around $200-300 or so. Plus you’ll have it on your ticket for any future jobs you might need a MEII.
