Default Recommendation Letters - Date ?

Hello

I am about 1.5 years from availability. I plan to start applying to majors at 1.0 years out. Should my recommendation letters be dated ? Will they "look old" if I get them now and submit them/upload them when I apply ?

Or should I have the writers just leave the dates off of the letters ?

Thank you

I don't think a dated letter is necessarily bad. People should understand that it's a good idea to obtain LORs before you (or the reference) moves on.
