There are a lot of cheaper flashlights which are very bright. I don’t equip myself with anything I’m not comfortable losing on the road. Of course, this is why I don’t travel with nice stuff.

I keep a couple in my bag usually.

Once you use a Surefire, you will likely find others lacking.

I have carried an AAA mag-light in my shirt pocket for 40 years.

The incandescent version was not bright enough for a good preflight, but LED version is fine.

That’s why I ended up with a second and I’m looking to replace my Streamlight TLR-1 that’s on my gun with a Surefire.
