Default Career changer resume

I am currently a CFI and am applying to Skywest pilot pathway program but haven’t updated my resume after being in corporate America for 12 years. Does anyone have any examples of format for this?

Pilot Qualifications
- Pilot Ratings
- Type Ratings
- Instructor Ratings
- Other (medical, RCC, passport)

Flight Experience: (ie flight times)
- Breakdown depends on what you have and where you're applying

Education:
-
-

Pilot Employment
- Current Employer (2012-Pres.) Captain, ERJ-175
- Previous Employer 1
- Previous Employer 2

Non-pilot Employment (if you have room or if it's recent or significant)
- Previous Employer A
- Previous Employer B

Awards: (academic, community, military, etc)

Volunteer: (you could also list personal stuff like athletics, accomplishments, public service, etc).

-----------------------------------------------------

Try to keep it to one page unless you just have a really complicated history.

Geography matters to a few majors. They prefer pilots who will be local to their domiciles. In that case it's useful to list locations for your employers if that shows you've always worked in a specific area where the employer has a domicile. So you may need to customize the resume a bit for each employer (don't mix them up!). Shouldn't matter for regionals.

You don't need to waste text explaining what a pilot, CA, or FO does unless it was some unusual flight ops like test pilot. They already know what you do.

The resume is YOUR marketing document so you don't need to list any derogatory issues like terminations.

You also don't need to list every non-pilot job you've ever had, or low-end jobs during school.

I’m currently in the military with about 1.5 years left. I’m not an awards “go getter” like some people are. What are some ideas for the awards section for someone like me who doesn’t chase those quarterly awards and stuff?

Your military awards and decs. To a civilian the National Defense Service Medal sounds like a big deal.

Meh. Airlines know better. I'd only include personal awards, not campaign awards. Maybe only your 2-3 highest mil awards.

Any sort of award or recognition, including academic, athletic, community, etc. Awards from HS should be pretty significant, like valedictorian, state MVP, etc.

Well I was valedictorian, so I guess there’s something I could use from high school. I was under the impression that almost anything from high school was unusable. Apparently that’s not the case, so that’s good to know.
