TT for the majors
Hello, I have been working at the Canadian regionals for 4.5 years (since I was 23). I have 3500TT including 1500 Q400 PIC and 500 CRJ PIC.
I am working on getting my US citizenship and was wondering how much TT the majors are hiring with these days.
Should I continue flying in Canada until I have the desired time? Or go fly for Atlas, etc and get some different kind of experience/heavy time.
Thanks!

If the rest of your resume stacks up (whole person, college, clean record, GPA, leadership, instructor, check airman, etc) the top tier majors should start looking at regional folks around 5K TT and 2K+ 121 TPIC.
If you get to 3K regional TPIC with no calls, then additional types and experience might help. But that's a crap shoot, the top majors do not seem to prefer folks who leave regionals for ACMI, LCC, etc.
Those are very general numbers, some folks get called with only regional SIC time, others never get called at all.
Also second tier, LCC, ULCC minimums are lower and unpredictable... they might pass on someone who looks competitive for the top tier and hire his FO instead. Some are desperate and will hire anyone. YMMV.
