Is the community always so toxic?

I wonder this in a completely genuine way as I've noticed no shortage of negativity, bickering, bashing, know-it-alls and insults. Is the rest of the community this toxic or is it people hiding out behind anonymity? It makes me wonder how pilots sit in the cockpit together for hours on end amicably.

Ha! Dude... Asking this in an anonymous forum is not going to give you anything. But yes. Every flight is just like reading APC. Be a construction project manager or a firefighter.
*insert snowflake, Trump, or leftist for good measure.

Pilots in their core tend to be very sensitive and romantic figures, in a literary sense at least.
Old man and the Sea, Fate is the Hunter and Moby Dick.
Many chase that elusive creature in the shape of a job or upgrade.
They generally have an addiction prone personality be it p*ssy, alcohol or money.
Those combined lead to an excess of need and a shortage of satisfaction.
Roll that into a fake I’m tough and I couldn’t care two clicks facade......and you have the modern dark and bitter.....overly cynical pilot.
My excuse anyway.

Well, after seeing two companies I’ve worked for furlough, the victim of one of them, downgraded at another, and one place that no longer even exists, oh, and making less than $40k my first five years as a 121 airline pilot, yeah, I’m pretty cynical and have issues with this career. Now that I’m finally at a major with less than a year seniority and we just got an email about a cut in capacity and furlough is on everyone’s mind, you’ll have to forgive me for not seeming optimistic and happy.
And that all said, in the cockpit, with 95% of guys, we genuinely have a pleasant day, make jokes, get through it etc.
Just finished a 12 hour day today with 7.5 block, four write ups, T-storms, and other issues, and somehow had a good time with another pilot whom I shared almost zero background in common.

I already am a firefighter.......we don't have forums like this but I can assure you the banter at the dinner table and in the FB groups is far worse than anything on APC.
