Caution about using 141 to ‘finish up’.
Its hard to explain but let me try:
What makes a 141 school ‘141’ is the approved syllabus and record keeping and (supposedly) more FAA oversight and so on.
It also means that any prior flight experience can not be credited because it was done outside of their approved syllabus.
It’s been a while so I may be wrong on the amount but leaving a 141 school to go to another 141 they can’t even credit excepts for 25%(?).
Finish up 61 then go 141 with the GI Bill.

When I say finish up, Im going to the 141 school to finish up Private there doing part 61 over part 141 for Private only. While it might cost a bit more and I won’t get the part 141 benefits of private like the reduced hours, hopefully they can fix whatever issues I have and get me my ticket. I should of just started with them in the first place, but that’s my own fault.

Probably for the better. Getting your private at a Part 141 program usually ends up being a long and painful process and almost nobody finishes with the minimum hours. I'd only recommend it if the GI Bill was paying for it, otherwise Private on your own then do the rest in the Part 141 program is the way to go.
