LogBook Pro vs. LogTen
For those who don't know, LogBook Pro is a PC based program whereas LogTen is a Mac based program.
I have both Mac and PC, does anyone have experience with both? Import simplicity, general simplicity, night auto time calculations (if possible), etc. and perhaps either matching up with time grids for AA or UA applicatoiins with their reports.

I use Logbook Pro desktop version, it's ok. It hasn't been updated in basically a thousand years, but it works. The interface is hot garbage, and if you do find a bug, they'll tell you to pound sand, if they even respond. It does get the job done though.
If they'd actually update their software I might be tempted to pony up for one of their subscriptions to make importing easier, but they don't, so F them.

I was an early (very) adopter of Logten. I paid for the iOS app and desktop and it was great. Fast forward- all of a sudden and I need to pay again? So I paid for “lifetime.” Fast forward again and now I need to pay monthly? THATS NOT HOW LIFETIME WORKS!
I gave up and started looking and found Smart Logbook (link at the bottom.) I’m not affiliated with them in any way. I wrote back and forth with the developer multiple times and have in writing that you pay ONCE. The only cost is if you want it backed up on a server vs printing or exporting which is optional. The layout and use is similar to logten, once you get the hang of a few small quirks it’s short and sweet.
I don’t believe it has a desktop component, but for folks in my shoes, it doesn’t matter. I’m at a point in my career I only log “just in case” and don’t care about a desktop component. If and when I need, I can just hit print and have Staples bind it for me. Also- easy import from my logten right into the app.
I know this sounds like an Ad, but it’s not. It’s fueled by my hatred for the business practices of logten and the satisfaction with this change.

I use Jeppesen. It's an older technology, but never requires an update, backs itself up, pay once and I retain full rights and ownership of the log, and it's automatically preprinted. Utilizing the well-proven pen-and-ink technology, the standard font is handwriting, with available options for both black, and blue ink, and even features selections such as Fountain, Gelpen, and Hotelpen, a subset of Ballpointpen. It has the added utility of all my medicals glued inside, along with a few business cards and even photographs (remember those?). This version of the digital logbook involves writing, using my digits. Works exceptionally well. Sits in a fire resistant safe with a pile of similar ones, under my bed. Not only does it never need printing for presentation, but can be used to balance a table leg, smash a spider or scorpion, or balance a dinner while watching TV. It comes with lovely and tasteful mint green pages (the 1920's called, and are jealous), and a beautiful UPS-brown faux leather hardback binder. Twenty-nine bucks or so. No subscription required.

LogTen is not as full featured as APDL. Both will generate reports that make filling out airline applications less annoying.

With the Jeppesen logbook, it would take a house fire to have issues. But, no. That's what the safe is for.
I can just turn the page whenever I want to add to my printed copy. And it's already printed.
Good god. A nightmare.
Doesn't have to. That's what the safe is for. It's not like it's written in disappearing ink. Backup not required. Go figure.
You log your schedule, and not what you actually flew?
