Leaving during training or just after?
Hello,
So I'm in a fortunate position of having 2 CJOs, 1 is for an airline I really am looking forward to flying for, but the problem is that the next available course date could possibly be in Q3/Q4. The other CJO is for a new start-up airline that I have no longterm plan to stay at for my career, however I am likely to be offered a course date in the next month or so.
It appears unusually common for people to leave during training or shortly after, but I'm a bit concerned that it isn't the best look and I wouldn't want anything to jeopardize my shot at the other airline later in the year. Has anyone personally gone through this themselves or has any insight into it? I have always been very straight with my previous employers, but having to wait till the end of the year for a course date when I could be training and possibly flying for a few months for the start-up makes financial sense to me, I just would hate for it to raise any concerns with the major airline that I want to go to, as I'm aware it doesn't look great from an 'integrity' point of view and even may create suspicions of training difficulties...etc

Generally I wouldn't worry about leaving (with reasonable notice and any training bonds satisfied) if you're going to a career destination airline.
But as you say lots of people do it these days, regardless.
