Can you be an airline pilot with a felony?

Wow, being denied due to an MIP is hardcore. Does that fall under the automatic disqualifier?
What happened to being young and stupid? I guess any potential pilots are just supposed to skip the growing up phase and jump straight to being an adult.

Btw, what's a MIP?

I know that but I was talking about the one guy who said that his buddy interviewed at AWAC, aced everything and then got turned down because of a Minor in Possession on his record.
So I'm just asking for clarification on that. That sounds hardcore if he got turned down just because of that, so either theres something else that we don't know or does the MIP, being alcohol related, still fall under the automatic disqualifier?
*edit* BTW, I don't have any alcohol related offenses on my record, thank god. *knock on wood* But I know tons of my buddies who do.

i had an underage drinking ticket also but it hasnt seemed to affect anything. I think if it is not disclosed then it is a problem. If it was disclosed awac would have already known that before the check came back 1 month later.
I repented and joined the Corps and served so if they wanted to hold an underage drinking against me from 6 years ago even after disclosing it, it would be a surprise. I learned from my stupid youth mistake and have gone on to do bigger, better, wiser things.
If all things were considered equal between an applicant and I though I would expect to lose the job because of that incident if it were a tight race.

Individual airlines may have their own criteria, which can vary based on pilot supply and demand.

Eh...
I think there might have been more to it. There usually is in cases like this. I completely understand the whole point in disclosure and fessing up, but being expected to recall an minor in possession from over a decade ago is kinda pushing it. Sometimes I can't even remember what I did last night. (Don't quote me on that.)
However, if that is expected then god help me because I had a wild childhood.
