Default Will a TS/SCI w/Current Polygraph ...

My (paid) aviation resume is non-existent. Now age fifty;
been flying GA since age fourteen. CASELSMELS-IA & CG.
All piston, zero turbine.

Will an active TS/SCI with CI & full-scope polygraphs
open any doors?

Would buying a Citation or B737 type-rating improve
matters?

The clearance won't substitue for experience for airlines, but it might potentially open doors in UAVs or US government-contract flying (small airplanes) overseas.

If you are interested, Customs is hiring UAS operators in a non law enforcement position. The age limit of 40 has been removed.

USAJOBS - Job Announcement is available at this link.

It will get you an interview at Insitu (Insitu.com. Look under Field Service Representative) flying UAVs. Fix figures a year for six mos. work, if you don't mind spending half a year overseas.

Didn't see a thing that would be applicable on the site about field service rep... maybe I'm blind, can you point me in the right direction?

No worries, I hear you don't need perfect vision to fly
I sent a PM on how to find it.

PM me if you have any questions. I'm just getting back from my first deployment. I'm looking forward to my 90 days off.

Default UAV positions

I have SUAS experience in the military with 2 deployment to Iraq, do you know if Insitu is still wanting UAV Operators? My Secret clearance is still current.
