Current upgrade times are not necessarily a good way to decide where you want to go. Go somewhere that, if you were to NOT upgrade, it would be a tolerable quality of life (work/reserve rules, guaranteed days off, health benefits, etc.).
Ask any ExpressJet pilot who got hired in 2006, when the upgrade time was an anticipated eighteen MONTHS, how their career expectations have changed. Fortunately XJT had a fantastic quality of life going (for a regional) for several years; it's been on the decline for many months now. No regrets for me, but I would suggest that you choose your poison based on other, more conservative criteria. |

What constitutes a reduced upgrade time at AE?

Getting back to the OP, definitely a bonehead move. That's not what they meant!!!
May be a blessing in disguise though. Beagle still ain't the best place to be. Try applying to ASA. |

I can't speak to your current rejection letter. I am honestly not sure what happened. That sounds a little odd. It could honestly be either of those, or it could have been random timing. I'm sure you are one of a thousand applying for that same job. However, as someone who has been in many interviews and hired many pilots in my life, I would say one thing red flagged me on your post.

almost done with the 4 year degree.
Good luck finishing your degree. I am sure it will help you a lot in the interview process. |

Contact airline apps directly and see if they will release your application back to you so that can correct this error. Explain the situation, that you mistook the license block to include the medical as well and that you would like to update it to reflect the correct information. Having a current letter from the FAA showing no revocations/suspensions might help. Offer to send them a copy if that would help. You can get this by logging on to the FAA website. If you haven't done this before, you will need to register.
Good luck |
call the recruiting office directly

FSU Pilot-
In my opinion, you're not going to get this cleared up through emails and calling. However, I don't think you should give up. You have not indicated, and I am assuming that you don't have a current employee on the inside to vouch for you. If you do, this person will need to make a personal trip to their office on your behalf. If you don't know anyone on the inside, all hope is not lost. What you'll need to do is attend MORE than one job fair that they will be at within the next few months. That way, you get face time with an HR representative. Be candid and open about your mistake. Also explain to them how much you want this job, and that you traveled all this way just to talk to them. I am willing to bet they'll take another look at you. Best of luck! Z |
