Digital Logbook
Do you guys backup your logbook via technology?
I make photo copies of my logbook after every page, but I'm starting to think it would be easier for me to store an Ecopy on a flash drive rather than lugging around a few dozen sheets of paper.
Advice?
Thanks!

I use the excel spreadsheet on google docs. I also created a form on google docs that I fill out using my smartphone at the end of each flight, with block OUT (or initial taxi), block IN flight number, landing, approach, etc. Later I transfer the excel sheet to my log book excel sheet and hard log book.

I also use the method of logging it digital first then transfer to handwritten paper later.
I use Logten Pro on my iPod touch and mac where all the data is stored on Dropbox in the end. I like Logten, it's great, very streamlined and highly customizable. However, they have a habit of charging $50 bucks for upgraded versions with new features that seem rather trivial to me, which is testing my patience and customer loyalty. And not to mention you're tied to the mac platform...
I thought about only using my paper logbook for when other people have to sign my logbook. However, I just like things to be in chronological order and all in one place, so I still keep my paper one updated.

In my opinion, I don't think it's worth purchasing any specialty programs or software to do it. I do the same as tylervet using Microsoft Excel briefly at the end of each flight, and then update my actual paper logbook at the end of each day. Has worked beautifully for me over 7 years since I started.
