I hold a Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering... Its an M Eng which is a 4 year undergraduate course.. Had I done it for 3 years, it will have been a B Eng..

It was tough but I loved it and the flying for me adds another dimension to really see the design of the aircraft in its full working glory.. Got to really be a science and math lover and application.. Needless to say, the engineering skills are so transferable to most careers and I am thankful for it.

I'd say the Master's is ok. understanding how the degree system works in the UK and Europe is half the battle AND don't forget in the US you can also access a lot of graduate programs by work experiences. I'd put it on the cv like that and see what happens. The University your Master's is from is well known so I wouldn't have an issue... In fact I'm thinking of doing to same thing and not getting a bachelor over here, but straight to a post grad.

A friend flies for Thomas Cook and he likes his job and another for TNT but to get in with the big carriers over here is difficult as like the OP said you have a lot of these budget airlines offerings these 'promotions' to hungry guys... A lot of guys still do their training in the US. You'll be fine with your degree just put on the cv that you entered on previous professional course experience;
