Default Needing Some Advice

I just recently was pulled over for the third time in a year. I know this already doesn't look good but by the time I graduate and look for a job they should go off my driving record because in ohio tickets go after three years. Because I got three tickets in one year I got a misdemeanor in the 4th degree which is the lowest degree in ohio. My question is how bad will this hurt my chances at the airlines or any job in aviation because I know the driving record is a pretty big deal. also should i have the misdemeanor expunged?

thanks for your help

Many of the applications that I've seen ask about your driving record for the previous 5 or 10 years. I have a driving misdemeanor which (because of the classification stays on my record for forever), it has only been brought up in one interview and has never been an issue. Just make sure to tell the truth always and disclose the violations when asked!

Can you list the tickets? How much over were you for each offense?

As stated above, airlines will ask you for a history of your offenses for the past 5-10 years. Since you are just starting your aviation career, it WILL be brought up during your interview. Your tickets show a pattern of not following the rules. You need to fight the misdemeanor with a lawyer.

Will this third ticket result in you losing your driver's license?

The third ticket will not result in losing my license just the misdemeanor charge. The tickets were:

77 in 65

77 in 65

both of those in august

the last was 70 in a 55 but I was passing someone in the oncoming lane and even the judge told me I was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I just know this is a part of the interview process and I do not want it to hurt me too bad thats why I am considering getting the misdemeanor expunged.

Yes, get the misdemeanor expunged if you can. I had a lot of tickets but I cleaned it up and I was fine. You need to start driving like a grandma. Cruise control is your best friend from here in out. Your job depends on it. Over time the tickets will be purged and you will have a clean slate.

You are on the verge of having serious employment issues.

Get rid of the misdemeanor, spend money if you have to.

Slow down. Cops will rarely pull you over for less than 10 over...and essentially never for 5 over (their radar guns are not accurate enough +/- a few mph).

Don't lie if the airlines ask 5 or 10 years back...if you lie and they find out your career is over, cuz you will have been fired from a 121 airline for lying and there's no way to recover from that.
