Default Building multi-time in hawaii

Does anyone have an idea of how to build multi time in Hawaii, other than paying for it?

Have you considered going outside Hawaii? It seems your options in such a small number would be quite limited. You could spend 5-10 years waiting for the few opportunities there, or you could get out for a couple years and build all the time you need while seeing the world, which will also make you more marketable.

There are loads of turboprop gigs in Asia, some in Japan, maybe even China in RJs. It would be a bit of a culture shock, but you would build your time quickly and make some really decent coin in the process.

The international experience would also look really good in your resume, just as important as multi time if you ask me. Especially if your ultimate goal is to get on with HAL.

So don't restrict yourself to such a small market. Globalization is here, and pilots are in demand if you expand your boundaries.

The thought of going international to fly for an airline is incredible. I'm just not in a situation financially to be able to do so and I am getting married in April and have only been in Hawaii for almost a year. Don't think I could get the future wife on board for that.

I know HAL is working towards getting a couple ATR's there is just no timetable anywhere that I can find.

When you show her what your paycheck would be compared to staying at a regional in the US, I think she would not be ok with you staying. Many international gigs flying regional equipment pay upwards of 6000 US/Month for FO, and anywhere between 10-14K US/Month for Captains.

But anyways, to each his own. Good luck in Hawaii.

Island Air, Transair, Corporate Air, Kamaka Air, and Hawaiian when they start to hire for the turboprops.

Where would one go to find some info on those jobs over seas?

Google is your friend. There are many pilot hiring sites, and many crew contract agency sites. Just browse through any of them and search for CA/FO positions depending on your experience. Many places will take you with no rating. Most CA gigs will require type and time in type, but a few don't. KAL does not require type, but is definitely not a long term "career" type of job.

But all good if you are building experience. It is what I did when I was fresh out of flight school and wet behind the ears. It put a little hair on my chest and I highly recommend it. Not just for flying but for life in general. It is extremely important to step outside your comfort zone a bit and learn your boundaries to develop and grow as an individual and not just a professional.

Anyway, here is link with some examples below. I just googled Pilot Jobs in Asia. I've never used this site, but there are many like it. I just posted the link as an example. If you search around I'm sure you can find recommendations into the better sites and crewing agencies.
