Default Problems with TMAAT questions for FOs

I feel like a lot of FO's hired around 2007-2009 are in my boat. After 5+ years as a regional FO, I have a very easy schedule and barely work.. and early years were mostly highspeeds.

I'm used to getting along with most personality types.. the grumpy lifer, hyper active captain America, nympho alcoholic FAs, it doesn't really matter.

I have been quite lucky, over 5 years I've never had to divert, a major emergency, and barely any crazy pax. I try to look out for the passengers -- but I let the gate agents and captains do their job when appropriate, and haven't had many noteworthy interactions with passenger, employees, etc.

Now that I'm looking at interviewing at other places, I think about the Tell Me About A Time questions airlines ask and I don't have a lot of interesting stories to tell. I don't want to lie and make up stories either. Apparently after 5 years and zero checkride failures, violations, or crashes, I'm probably qualified to fly an airbus.

Any ideas?

Clearly, aviation has gotten way too boring!

I wouldn't want to be the captain on your next trip. You just jinxed the crap out of yourself. The one time I talked about never having anything happen to me, I had a flap 0 failure the next day followed by a medical emergency.

What you just wrote here is a great answer. Some people have lots of stories, others are fortunate enough to have years of plane sailing.

Maybe something not aviation related would work. Helped a neighbor, colleague, etc.

Making something up will likely come back to bite you in the ass.

Look through your logbook. Guarenteed your memory will be triggered and you'll think of stories.

I've been on the CRJ for 5 years so I've had 4 zero flap landings. No biggy. Read the QRH and land. It's not like I'm landing the shuttle.

I'm thinking more like ..

Tell me about a time you counselled a crew member/pax who was upset? -Never

Tell me about a time a passenger was stressed out or upset? - I let the FAs deal with that

TM a time when you intervened on a threat before it became more dangerous? - I told the CA to go around.. he did .. end of story

TM a time you made a decision that resulted in a call from management? - I've never been contacted by flt ops about anything

If I called you chief pilot, what would he say about you? - I haven't talked to my CP since I started flying except for administrative things

Sounds like you let your other coworkers do all the hard work
