I am rooting for pilot pay ESPECIALLY at regionals to increase. The difference in pay between regional and mainline is incredible.

These are for mainline jobs. Little chance of a shortage there in my opinion, as others have pointed out, thousands line up for a chance to interview.

I think the job shortage issue may be a more regional issue - and there I can believe it. At SOME point supply has got to slow down given current pay! How to judge that? Any regionally focused hiring events?

SurfNSun, you cant let these rogue individuals get to you. These few people hide behind a computer and don't reveal their identities, and subscribe to a very archaic way of thinking. I promise you they don't represent the rest of us who see the importance of WAI as an organization and the advancement of our industry as a whole. Its not just about women, its about all of us. I want the aviation industry to reflect the society that I live in and am proud of. Its my personal opinion that women are severely underrepresented in the airlines, and I'm glad that there are avenues to network and gain opportunities to enter, through training, scholarships, education, etc. For those who support WAI, thank you. For those who do not, I encourage you to take part in an organization that will provide tremendous contributions for us all.

After going to the WAI conference for the first time I was highly impressed with the way it was run. What I wasn't impressed with was how aggressive a few individuals seemed, especially after the luncheon on Friday, trying to push there way thru while the exhibitors were being let in. Remember you never know who is watching. Other then that, thank you WAI for a very positive experience and I wish you all the best in the hunt for greener pastures.

Very true… and a lot more people did notice. There was a great deal of foot stomping, aggressive behavior and angry faces. Not good for those guys involved.

What are the feelings of the female aviators when the dudes show up? Do white guys go to OBAP? Sincere question. Just asking.

I am rather enjoying how the tables are turned... Glad WIA can pump as much cash out of the pasty white dudes.

There should be a Premier Hiring Club, blocked off with velvet rope and a black curtain with black female black belt body builder bouncers (aka BFBBBBB's)... Say a grand to get in and met with recruiters... of course after all the women have gone first, for free.

Sorry boys... you've had it too good for too long.....

bwhahahahaha

I'm guessing "NO WORD" from any airlines since the conference?
I can't afford to do this again!!!$$$....so I sure hope there isn't too much dust on my resume by the time they start looking at our online apps!
Nice time and location!! Just wish I was there on a family vacation rather than standing around in my monkey suit all "pumped-up" to see the recruiters.
I felt like I did well during my face to face time with both AA & UA pilots. However, there were a few guys who walked away feeling like they got shot-out-of-the-sky ;-(
One AA fellow asked him to tell him all he knew about WAI, how many females are there in the US, how many are pilots? < ***?!?! Over!!
Another fellow I met in line for a Fast Pass spoke to a UA pilot and said he crashed and burned.....before he got the gear up!<no real details.
Thus, my advice.....be "pumped-up" and prepared!! It wasn't fun being at Disney standing in a line at 4am......but I got a fast pass......and I was prepared! <Especially after laying down $$$ for the full conference hotel, rental car etc.!! Glad I went!!
Good Luck Boyz n Girlz!

I don't know of anyone that has heard anything but I assumed it would take at least a month for them to process all the apps and then additional time to make a decision of interviews or whatnot.

That combined with summer flying and it could be a while.

Or maybe that's just me being an optimist.

I know Alaska has hired people that they first talked to at WAI.
