I will say this, QOL has a big variance in the military; the devil truly is in the details of your assignment. I've carved out a nice little niche QOL-wise compared to other military guys. If I was on non-stop deployments to the pork barrel political quagmires of the world, I'd be touting the benefits of a stateside airline job too; nevermind I'd be happy to take a paycut for it as well. What I'd never do is work for a regional. I cannot afford the pay cut and I don't accept the experience/pay exchange offered, as a matter of principle. To each their own. |
