Better question, how does one afford to pay for these expensive degree's while paying off extremely expensive flight school loans while working as a regional FO making garbage pay?

The cost of tuition and flight school is out of control today!

Army Warrants don't require a degree and they fly both fixed and rotary.

No idea, I could ask them. No clue how it works in the DOD, or any other government job.
One for sure was army helicopter, before flying for a Charter.
If that means anything to you.

Bottom line...you're at a serious disadvantage without it and will essentially not be eligible for the top-tier jobs.

With the assumed high demand for experienced pilots in the next few years, you might be able to land an LCC job if you have excellent flying credentials.

But I wouldn't start an aviation career without a plan for getting a degree, nor would I delay getting one now if at all possible.

Probably not required if you are a graduate of Test Pilot School.
