I mean this in the nicest way: you'd have to be a special kinda stupid to quit UAL more than 2 days prior to your Delta class (assuming it even materializes). If it were me I think I'd be in class at UAL 'til 5pm the day prior and have purchased a ticket to ATL at 6pm (with the local charter co. number in my phone as a backup). I'm the last to advocate burning a bridge, but UAL gets burned either way in this scenario IMO.

Congrats and good luck!

AFAIK, Horizin or Horizon isn't part of AAG.

Sure it is if you're referring to Alaska Air Group (AAG).

Although "burning a bridge" is never a good idea, an airline won't even think twice when doing what's best for itself. In other words, do what's BEST FOR YOU.

Correct, I blew it. When I see "AAG" I think of the new 'Merican.

Hey Everyone, thanks for your honest feedback. It looks like for now I will stick with United until Delta makes it official. I don't like burning bridges and definitely don't like black marking my reputation...however never thought I'd be in this position. It is a tougher problem than originally thought. I know Delta is a solid company now...but it can always change and go the other way and United could be the go to airline in the future. I guess there is no gracious way of leaving one legacy airline for another legacy. Will have to make a tough call when Delta officially invites.

Question, have you been to Kmart and purchased an 'all knowing~all seeing' 8 ball? That would be my move..............YHGTBSM.
