Default Crime record to be a pilot ?

Hi everyone , I am 24 now from Hong Kong and I have a question to ask , I am planning to join the Flight school in Australia or New Zealand but I have a crime record 7 years ago when I was 17 years old and I just have a crime record "claim to be a member of a triad society" and just a crime record I haven't got in to prison .
So can I be a pilot or not
And anyone have a experience of that?
I just worry about the security issue

You're probably looking for a straight answer, which I'm unable to give you. I'm not familiar with Australian or New Zealand law, so I can only give you general guidance.

I think the best thing to do would be to contact the flight schools and find out what checks you have to go through (if any) before you can start training.

Then there is the issue of obtaining an airside pass. Different countries have different criminal record checks for that. This might be useful if you want to work in Australia: https://infrastructure.gov.au/transp...asi/asics.aspx
You could probably find the details for getting an airside pass in Hong Kong on the internet too.

Then there are airline specific criminal background checks. That will vary from airline to airline.

So you see there are quite a few variables.
