Hello all,
I am currently in the market for my first airline job (135), low level no doubt.
One of the employers has sent me a request for information. The question detailed asks: Have you received any traffic violations in the previous 5 years.
I pulled up my NYS driving record, and it has revealed nothing.
Every speeding or rolling a stop sign ticket I have received in the previous 5 years has been reduced to a parking ticket.
Do I need to report these?

Alex,
I'm in the application process as well, so no success story to cite, but.. Everything anyone has cited was, "Be honest." I have received 'a few' moving violations, mostly 20+ years ago. I'm not a lawyer, but the question isn't what you were convicted of, it asks if you received any traffic violations. As such, I have listed all of mine, regardless of the disposition.
I would rather be sitting across the table explaining my youthful indiscretions, rather than tap dancing why I didn't disclose xyz.., and the ensuing scrutiny of everything else I claim.
Just my take.
Good luck,
Mongo

They don't really care about your traffic tickets; they're more interested in your forthrightness and honesty.
There's nothing at all to be gained by NOT putting them on your application and everything potentially to be lost.

I guess the concern is checking "yes" when maybe you didn't have to, and then never getting the call and wondering whether checking "yes" is the reason you're being passed over.
Might not be a factor for most traffic tickets, but for something else (like certain minor stuff like loitering/littering), it could be.

If you're not getting a call to interview, it isn't because of littering and loitering tickets you self-reported on your application.

So are parking tickets expected to be listed? It's easy to accumulate them and forget. And I'm 99% positive parking citations are non moving citations therefore in no way shape or form show up on a DMV report.
It's also possible to never see a parking ticket, as it's possible it blows away in the wind etc. Who's to say your wife didn't park your car? Parking tickets seem subjective to me.
"Parking tickets do not appear on your driver’s abstract and do not affect your driver’s licence or insurance record. The only consequence of not paying a parking ticket is that your licence plate will not be renewed. In other words, you will not be able to get your renewal “sticker” unless you pay your parking tickets."
Any advice?
