Hey Everybody,
My name is Josh Hanson. Right now I am a flight instructor in the ATP program sitting around 700 hours. Currently I am facing the decision of continuing instructing or moving on to work for a 135 operator to finish my 1500 hr time build in the EMB-120. Things will be slowing down after my students finish their commercial ratings but my main concern is what would look the best on my resume. would I be better off finishing my time as an instructor or would a 135 operator be the better option? Everyone at this level is a seasoned professional and I would really appreciate any advice anyone could give me.

Turbine time would be better, and nobody "expects" you to finish your time as an instructor.
But in reality you'll have your choice of regional when you hit 1500 hours so I would consider what will get you there faster. If this were 1996, you'd need that turbine 135 time but it's 2016...
Also...I have reason to suspect the EMB-120 was mostly removed from airline service last year due to problems with the quality of critical replacement parts. Unless I'm wrong, flying the 120 may be significantly more dangerous than it used to be. It's like a helicopter, if you lose control of a prop hub you're probably going to die.
