FDX Crew Pay Forms
#11
Pardon my lack of experience here...I took the scheduled DH and missed my connecting flight (last one of the day) back to MEM due to ATC delays. I called crew scheduling, who booked me a room, call for the car service and confirmed me on the first flight out next morning. The pairing was adjusted on VIPS...do I need to fill out more paperwork? Based on the comments from Tony and others I think probably not. Confirm?

RV: Just curious and for others if your mid trip DH problem was caused by the fact that scheduling now puts these mid trip DH just a couple of hours after landing somewhere in the far east. Seems to me that this is gonna bite them in the butt as you don't just hop off a jet in Hong Kong or Singapore and skip through check in. Just like to get some feed back........Thanks..

Well, unlike you maddog guys, there is generally only one pairing for us, with all 3 crewmwmbers listed, and if the scheduled DH goes long, everyone benefits. Not like you guys with seperate pairings for CAP, FO and RFO. The only time that happens for us is either with LCAs or if someone is pulled for illness, training, or emergency.

No, this was a Newark WX deal. I hear what you are saying about the short turns in Asia. Right now the weather is not bad, I think the crunch will come when the summer T-Storms disrupt the Pax schedule a little more.

Previous life in the DC-10 this was done more than once. Skeds can create a seperate pairing for each crewmember if they want.
Most of the time in the Maddog the CAP and FO are on the same pairing, only RFO has different pairing.
Now maybe someone decided to be nice and stop splitting pairings when backend deadheads were changed but they did it to me twice in the DC10. Only the non deviating crewmember got the extra pay.

I just got back from a reserve assigned CAP pairing where I was by myself. DH to AFW to replace an ANC Capt that had a broken hand. He slipped in ANC, flew the flight to AFW, didn't think much of it until his hand was swolled up enroute to AFW. (actually hurt both hands - broken right and ligaments in the left.) Good deal for me - Halibut and beers in ANC with buddies, 1st Class FF mileage on NW and enough leveling to allow me to most likely be able to watch ACC basketball tourney all weekend!

Addressing your sarcasm, the subject was split pairings. His injury wasn't the good deal for me, the split pairing was. I detect that in your world I should have sat in my room and lit some candles and then taken the company jumpseat back to MEM and donate my deviation bank to his recovery fund?

Well that might be true "generally". I deviated on a back end DH last month and the scheduled DH (other crew took it) got in 4 hours late. He called to update Crew Skeds and they paid us both for the delays even though I was deviating.
