How much do Atlas pilots make while sitting in base while away from home? How much are you paid for deadhead? what credits do you receive for reserve duty? Your counterparts at Kalitta and ABX are paid for these. (No contract is perfect) I personally think that you should be compensated for reserve credit, deadhead, trip rig, and loss of trip due to training. I think it would have been tough negotiating trip rig without giving those things up. If the K4 guys retain what they have and then get a rig in the next contract, they will have the best of both worlds. If they would have given up on reserve credit it would have been an impossible task to get it back. The K4 contract in whole is far superior to ANY contract currently in 1224, but still has vast room for improvement like all 1224 current contracts. Hopefully Atlas raises the bar in a few years when they get a new contract and Kalitta can raise the bar to the standard your negotiators set.

At Atlas we generally get paid Rig. Rig starts at show time for your first flight/R2 assignment. I've only broken for hours flown twice in 6 years. If I spend a full 17 days out it works out to be around 80 hours of pay. Unfortunately with our crappy rules they often change your schedule and you end up with an average of 72-75 a month.

If you guys had an industry standard Rig plus your current rate and line guarantee it'd be around $270,000 a year for a 12 year Captain not counting the $10,000 in retirement. Then who cares if they decide to fly you or not. You're getting paid either way if they choose to waste your time away from home.

Both of our contracts are completely obsolete. If offered a job elsewhere I'll immediately take it even if Atlas rams your contract down our throats... My app isn't in at K4.

I know the 1 in 7 isn't something you chose, it's something you ended up with. You made massive gains in your contract, and this isn't one of them. That's okay.

But don't be afraid to call a spade a spade. You (Lockheed) obviously aren't. 1 in 7s aren't paid days. They are a kick in the pants is what they are. Something that you will fix next time, no doubt.

But to defend that clause, to say that those are paid, that's just wrong. And arguably spreading management propaganda.

That's big of you to say what you said - doesn't happen much around here
