Years ago doing a horse charter from England to New York. One of the horses happens to belong to Madonna. Get up to cruise and the RFO says, "I'm going to step back into the cargo hold for awhile, might be gone 15 minutes, don't be concerned." Capt and I go "WTF?", and RFO says...."I know I'll never get a chance to bang Madonna...but..

Carried a load of 300+ goats from Oz to KL for some festival.
The smell was the worst thing ever. And I've spent some time using open pit latrines in the summer.
The stench lingered long after the plane had been cleaned. Months later, I'd walk on and know this was the goat plane. I always carried my bags upstairs wrapped in a trash bag if I had to take that ship somewhere.

100,000 lbs of horse meat loaded on the plane in JFK going to Frog Town. Then the airplane broke, no APU, no external A/C, July..
3 days later we came back to fly the airplane, somebody had forgotten to offload the meat. Smell stayed with the plane for months.

I'm not a pilot but was deadheading into ANC in the early 80's. We rolled up around 4am in the winter, only to see this 747 parked with the nose gear.
It was a load of 300 cattle going to JAPAN. They offloaded the cattle at an angle and put the cattle in the warehouse to keep them from freezing.
Then a crane was brought in the raise the nose of the aircraft.
What had happened was that the crew was receiving a light that the nose gear wasn't operating correctly. Maintenance put the pin/streamer in the nose gear to keep it from retracting while they tested it. Of course, it was a windy evening and apparently the pin wasn't fully in place. It blew out while they were testing the gear!
Link to a photo of the 747 (sorry, I don't know how to just make the photo part of the note and faq's didn't help.)
