Default FDX vs UPS 2017

I know there's plenty of info on this, but I don't feel like it's very current. Not trying to start a Brown vs Purple riot, but wanted to seek out the most current available info on the benefits of each and the future outlook from a pilot standpoint .

Asking for a friend... who wants the best QOL and monentary return for his family.

Thanks

Apply to both - go where you are hired. After second job offer then decide. Total waste of effort otherwise. I would spend more time deciding on pax vs cargo

Agreed. Start with pax vs cargo. After that I'd immediately look at the commute and whatever will be easier based on where you live and want to possibly live in the future. Foreign domiciles...? Beyond that the two options are very similar - contracts are alike, benefits, schedules, and so on. Many little things are better at FX, some at UPS. The employee experience is definitely better at purple - brown requires thick skin and a natural disposition to suspend association when not being commissioned for duty. Overall, IMO, FX has a slight advantage but not enough that anyone is jumping ship (besides the 1 in 2015-we took a FX guy in 2016? but he was a Louisville native).

Agree!

Until a person has an offer form both airlines this is an exercise in futility.

I have several friends at purple and each time we compare our contracts the conclusion is always the same -> BOTH are incredible companies to work for.

So purple or brown? I don’t know but if you were to win a million dollars would you prefer it in $50 or in $100 bills? In the end it’s still a million dollars.

This is assuming you have the choice of both.

Fortunately, commuting in this scenario has no weight.

What color are your friends eyes? If brown or green definitely go with UPS. If blue
you must go with FDX, unless the hair is red.
