Everyone's definition of fatigue is different. Basically if you are too tired to fly, then you are too tired to fly.... period. You bring light of this and then bend for GOC to go .........I guarantee the company will not fend for you if there is an incident.

Default op emergency

Fedex guys...

Some of you referenced "op emergency" in your posts. As a brown bubba, we don't have that in our contract. What does the declaration of "op emergency" do to your duty times/rest times/pay?

TIA

If they declare an Ops Emergency, then can take us to FAR limits (16hrs).

Basically, it's license to throw the schedules in the fireplace and do with you as they want. Example: lock the crew in a 727 for 7 hrs on the ramp during an icestorm waiting for better WX. Then, launch the fleet and add an extra leg or two. That kind of thing...

In exchange, you do get an extra 3CH of pay on top of the overage earned. So, gunga-la-gunga. I've got that going for me; which is nice.

Let me explain.

Safety is paramount, until it meets Money. Then Money is paramount.

That's the only way to explain the failure to equip all 727s with TCAS until it was mandated by CFR. IF Safety had been paramount, they would have been on all the airplanes as soon as they were available.
