Angry non members and pdo bump

I am tired of the Non Members PDO bumping the great trips. I will not let a non member bump me. I hope most people do this and they get stuck with a crapy trip.

PDO (Per Diem Only) You get the hours (and sit at home or fly an extra trip) the bumper flys the trip and get per diem and travel bank.

Non members were grandfathered, and in this case is probably a management pilot.

Reasons to PDO bump - Trip is going somewhere you want to go (usually involving a deadhead) or management pilot needs to fill squares.

Well, I'm on the property for 5 months so far, and I had no idea there were that many... uhmm, non-members that it would matter.

My sponsor told me about these people. I figured they were kind of like the Eastern scabs that I flew with at Express One and Kalitta Air; they did their job and you did yours, you were cordial and friendly the whole time. And if you were smart you kind of went out to dinner without them, pretending to sleep when they called your room.

That's how I plan to deal with Fdx pilots who won't join ALPA.

Just a suggestion, but I'd wait until you're off probation before you carry out your much followed (and approved) plan.

Hey great idea. That will really show them. You'll be looking out your window as they taxi by on someone else's flight(because they will get somebodies trip) while you are on your way out. I wouldn't cut off your nose to spite your face. Just take comfort in hoping the flight gets extended in the field and he doesn't get the overage, the override if it's an Int'l trip, or any of the other extra pay triggers.
The best answer I ever got to PDO'ing somebody was I could bump them right up to V1 without asking.

I'm on a trip right now with a non-member (nearly 2 week trip). He told me up front he doesn't eat dinner or go out at all. Kind of strange fella. He does pay his share (2% to ALPA) though so I can't be to discontented.

We need more IOE in ANC so we can get PDO pumped!
