Definitely concur - ACMI group for the most part flies casual like Chewbacca. We'll get there when we get there, have a good time doing it and of course grab a beer/beverage on the layover along with a cigar in my case. So true about the Discovery Channel bit. Many of us pretend we're like Anthony Bourdain during his good years roaming about. Miss that guy - apologies for the gloom. Good times to be had for sure. Back to your local Amerijet programming.

They are still hiring. I have a interview coming up. So whats the doom and gloom all about?

So ask the interviewer, "why did the guy I'm replacing leave?".... And he/they did. Many airframes parked, and still hiring.

I wrote parked, and I stand corrected, its 8 airplanes returned. Not coming back.

now the last DHL tail is being returned and 316 is going the way of old yeller. officially less tails than when I was there.

Not the CAP plane!!! Almost ruined a bunch of 15 year old cadets' dreams......

The first hour in my logbook is as a CAP cadet.

The airplane in the picture, however, in Aruba, was not CAP, and is an N-reigstered airplane, registered to a corporate trustee in England.

That's not good. Hiring a Chief Commercial Officer only I suppose, but maybe there will be some one great to run with it.

The place is a dumpster fire. This place has lost over 100 pilots and 6 airplanes in the last year and is still overstaffed by 50 pilots. They are firing pilots and failing people on PC and line checks so they aren’t marketable anymore.The union is a joke and will do nothing for you. Stay away from this place !

If you had done your HW as you were supposed to, you would have known this place had always and will always be a dumpster fire. It’s a Miami 36st pooo hole.
too many people believed the hype of mythical flying routes and 777s.
I feel bad because I know some really good people that believed all the trash this airline sold and made permanent decisions and stayed.
now it’s just too late to do anything about it.
most airlines have stopped hiring and the now music has stopped.
Delta and AA can now cherry pick the best pilots from other airlines and avoid hiring the amazing talent at AJT.
People here should have listened, and heeded the advice of many people who left for greener pastures.
But really, the jokes on the good old boys here calling other pilots “idiots” for moving to better places. Who’s laughing now.

I already heard the news of potential furloughs coming up at Amerijet’. And my prediction is this place closing sooner than later.
if your smart, start applying ANYWHERE. don’t get busted, don’t get pink slipped. Go to a regional, saver ur career and GTFO.
The writing is on the wall, and it won’t be too soon before spirit folds, FedEx, United and JetBlue furlough.
you will be competing against pilots with real airline experience for any job.
