1. It’s a mix of night and day flying.
2.Layovers can be from 24-48 hours.
3. Easy to bid between Miami and temp base after 3 months on the line.
4. Positive space always for temp base within domestic.
Amerijet is not bad but they have canceled all 150% Pat overage flying. Also contract talks have stopped so it looks like until the recursion is over there won’t be any raises. So it might be a few years.

  1. What's the typical schedule? I'm sure it varies quite a bit base-by-base, but a general breakdown of the types of flying in various bases would be very helpful. How many days flown per rotation, typical legs/day, mainly day/night, etc.
  2. How long are the rest periods typically when flying abroad? Enough time during a layover to actually explore where you end up?
  3. How easy is it to switch between temporary bases? If, say, you wanted to do flying around Latin America one month and fly out of Incheon the next, is that possible, especially in Year 1?
  4. Do you get positive-space travel to temporary bases, or is it up to you to get yourself there? Travel on days on or off?
Thanks in advance gents...

Interesting....nothing in AJT Airline Profiles mentions Incheon. Also haven't seen any flights on Flight Radar to Incheon. Who knew....

It just started late fall. GSP-ANC-ICN and RFD-ANC-ICN. The china permits have come through supposedly and there will be ICN-HGH and SHE starting in february.

Helocargo 01-11-2023 10:13 AM

So all the insiders here claiming the contract was a done deal were wrong?
I guess Atlas and Kalitta can rest knowing the almighty Amerijet contract will not blow them out of the water. Crises adverted! Keep having fun flying broke and toasty airplanes into Asia at bottom feeder 36st rates. Glad you all are raising the bar for everyone.

RKSI is ICN. It's listed on the profile under temporary bases.

Looking at applying and coming out of mil. What’s the duration on reserve look like?

Ameirjet dosent have reserve. They fill open trips with volunteers. But lately no volunteers since they aren’t paying 150% for open time. Guys are quitting also do to this and non existent contract talks.

vrtule12 01-12-2023 05:03 AM

Are y'all at least flying the monthly minimums?

Monthly mins yes but they are canceling flight due to lack of pilots willing to do trips due to no overtime pay.

Yes. Most pilots today don’t have the scholastic ability to earn the salaries of their professional peers (Doctors, development software engineers, etc). We don’t have to pretend, but we should continue to recognize the value of being in a unionized workforce. It is particularly valuable during a pilot surplus. It elevates us in a job that only requires OJT.

I agree mostly.

A lot of us have some decent academic credos. We just don't whip those credentials out at work. Also a lot of engineers, doctors, etc. are less academic than we may think when we look behind the curtains. I do think that we have lower academic barriers to entry. More depends on whether you can afford to learn to fly, afford to move for a job, etc. than whether you test into a school. Even here, we have to consider preferential selection to some schools that have very high tuition costs and proportionately low median ACT scores. Then there are institutions that turn a blind eye to academic impropriety conducted by high-paying foreign students, etc. So I'm not sure if I buy that one group is less able than another.

I think it's more that official and unofficial pressures foul-up selection and training in our industry. This is why it's important to have a unionized labor, effective standards and decentralized or at least distributed enforcement.

It’s pitiful that inept management would rather cancel or turn down trips rather than paying a premium to put money in the coffers. Stepping over a dollar to pick up a penny. Yeah… the owners should be real proud of their management and their style.

There is 60+ pages on this forum on information about this place. What hasn’t been said to warn people of Amerijet?
For a few months people here were raving about this “contract” and how it was just about ready to be signed, and alas, what I predicted happens.
Where are the posters who kept raving about amerijet at? No where to be found.

You might call management pitiful and whatnot but they are actually doing their jobs. They are using pitifully low wages to secure contracts and make the top money.
I just wonder why people keep flocking to this place with the promise of a TA that’s NOT going to happen.
I blame the pilots that keep flocking to AJT and allowing management to keep kicking the can down the road.

Lots of people here kept suggesting to pilots to go to other airlines. If they would have listened, they would be almost at second year pay at other outfits as first officers making more than a 10 year captain at this hole.

I'm shocked - shocked - that there was bad information going around in the APC forums. Who has ever heard of such a thing?

SoFloFlyer 01-13-2023 11:10 PM

Wait.. why has management stopped offering 150%? Is the budget really that tight right now?

Am I Hireable

Hello,

I've recently heard some great things about Amerijet and that people are generally happy and get to fly with great people. That's really what i'm looking for and it checks the boxes for what i'd like to fly and good pay in my eyes. I'm submitting my application, but what's my chances of getting hires. 1600TT, 250 Jet part 135, 450 Multi, no ATP or CTP completed. Anyone get hired without an ATP?

I do like the company and at this point i'd be willing to pay for my ATP-CTP course. Curious what people in here think of my chances of getting an interview or advice on what I should do?

Thanks!

CLOR 02-17-2023 07:10 AM

😂🤣😂🤣
What Great things have you heard about AmeriJet and from who?
Whoever is telling you “great things about AmeriJet, is lying to your very face. Don’t let those guys to fool you

No more %150 Overtime, contract is in the Limbo, Miami is not a “Home Base”

With so many guys quitting Amerijet, they will hire anyone with a pulse.

Come to AmeriJet, get the 767 Type and QUIT

JohnBurke 02-17-2023 07:32 AM

The same Amerijet that used to hand their crew a 5 gallon bucket for a lavatory on the 727? That great company?

As a former employee of AJT, I second this post. Better yet go to somewhere else and don’t waste your time.

You can apply and interview. That is negotiable. They are hiring guys with no turbine time

Njflyguy 06-04-2023 04:33 PM

This has been quiet for nearly 4 months. What's latest with AJT in terms of contract, hiring and bases?

maxconthrust 06-04-2023 07:16 PM

Do you still need to live in the Miami-Dade area to be offered a CJO?

BusBoe 09-13-2023 08:12 AM

1. How's amerijet training quality? Pass rate... Instructor/examiner demeanor is the training as good and pleasant as omni/abx/ati

2. How often do you travel international, if so, to where?

3. Are all the planes updated glass cockpit

If you meet the standard you pass. 100%. If you don't meet the standard you won't pass. Interesting if somebody has been to omni/abx/ati and AJT and can comment.

Depends on your bid. Since the domestic only routes are senior. Start learning Chinese.

Yes. Advanced or LPD.

When they say "advanced display", they're referring to the IS&S 10" flat panel display system. https://innovative-ss.com/products/flat-panel-displays/10"-flat-panel-display/

Amerijet in tit-for-tat spat with Korean Air

Amerijet is counterpunching against Korean Air at the USDOT, saying the airline is interfering with its efforts to obtain a permanent foreign carrier permit in South Korea.

All full time Sim instructors have been fired or told to accept part time, paid by day, except 2 APD’s .
Not looking good there.

Got someone at AJT to confirm this? They seem to be hiring like crazy still and an old friend of mine in new hire training right now hasn't heard about this.

they also have a 76 parked. 347.
they furloughed a bunch of office workers after decades of service.
idk who in their right mind would go to that place with so many other good airlines hiring. Even if it’s to get experience, there’s way better ACMIs hiring.
good luck to all who decided to stay there!
